Job description: Project Coordinator (Full time, 18 months)

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project seeks to develop the first interactive mapping tool for human trafficking and forced labor in Kuwait. Our team will collect, analyze, visualize data, and report on the status quo of migrant workers in Kuwait. We will also coalesce with like-minded organizations to provide a support network for migrant workers at risk and develop formative workshops/campaigns that promote corporate responsibility within the private sector, awareness among the wider society and enhance harm reduction strategies together with embassies. 

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are looking for a project coordinator who understands the immigration and residency policies and procedures in Kuwait , has knowledge and experience on coordinating projects and understanding of the local context, particularly on the recruitment and employment of migrant workers to Kuwait. An understanding of human trafficking and modern slavery will be an advantage. The project coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the overall project, including coordination of our stakeholders. The project coordinator will collaborate with the project director, project manager and team to ensure in time implementation and delivery of the project. We expect the project coordinator to begin and deliver outcomes on time. 

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to take the needed initiative to ensure the progress and success of the project and work independently. He/she must take responsibility and be able to deliver required results, including needed logistic organizations, reports, surveys and/or summaries. He/she must be reliable, willing to constantly learn and must know how to work in a team. Most important he/she must understand the importance of our work and be able to understand our objectives. 

KEY TASKS

  • Responsible for the coordination of engagements with all stakeholders
  • Workshop logistics and preparations
  • Media outreach
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of campaigns
  • Coordination of activities with the project director, manager, researcher and campaigner

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • B.A. in Social Sciences or other relevant degree or experience
  • Based in Kuwait 
  • 2 years of experience in project coordination or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a culturally diverse team
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in English

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Post-graduate degree in related field
  • Familiarity and/or experience working with the NGO sector

SALARY

1,600 USD per month
